Ankylosing spondylitis (AS; previously known as Bechterew's disease, Bechterew syndrome, Marie Strümpell disease and a form of Spondyloarthritis) is a chronic, painful, degenerative inflammatory arthritis primarily affecting spine and sacroiliac joints, causing eventual fusion of the spine; it is a member of the group of the autoimmune spondyloarthropathies with a strong genetic predisposition. Complete fusion results in a complete rigidity of the spine, a condition known as bamboo spine.

" I consulted with Kathy Deane in May of 2008 initially. Kathy is treating me with a number of Nature's Sunshine Products for Ankylosing Spondylitis. My overall health has been affected by this condition and I have struggled with many effects of the disease. To date I am finding that the effects are starting to retreat, such as intensity of pain, which debilitates. I am now walking again after about a year of not being able to walk much at all. I am sleeping well, most nights. Previous to starting this program, my sleep was being disturbed terribly by the pain. My energy has now improved; I am starting to gain weight again.
One of the products Kathy recommended, namely " Men's Formula " as my prostate was weak and I had no libido. My libido has returned!! This is the most dramatic change I have noticed so far. We now have a sex life again, which we did not have for about a year.
